Clay Risen is a senior editor at The New York Times and the drinks columnist for Garden & Gun. He has written for Smithsonian, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, Fortune, and is the author of American Whiskey Bourbon & Rye: A Guide to the Nation's Favorite Spirit (Sterling Epicure), A Nation on Fire: America in the Wake of the King Assassination (Wiley) and The Bill of the Century: The Epic Battle for the Civil Rights Act (Bloomsbury). Risen grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, and now lives in Brooklyn, New York, with his wife and two young children.
